What Is Clean Beauty, Really? My Low-Tox Rituals Explained
Let’s be honest: "clean beauty" can feel like a marketing buzzword.
But for me, it’s personal. It’s not about being perfect or pure — it’s about feeling safe, supported, and nourished by the products I use every day.
It started with my skin, but quickly became a lifestyle. And once I started removing hidden hormone disruptors and skin irritants, I felt everything shift — from my glow, to my mood, to how I showed up.
Here’s what I learned:
✨ Clean Beauty Isn’t About Fear. It’s About Feeling Good.
“Clean” doesn’t mean stripped down. It means intentionally chosen — with ingredients that work with your body, not against it.
I think of clean beauty as a filter: if it’s hormone-safe, nourishing, and aligned with nature, it passes. If it’s petroleum-based, irritating, or full of mystery fillers? Pass.
🧴 Ingredients I Avoid:
Parabens
Phthalates
Synthetic fragrance
Petroleum & mineral oil
PEGs & silicones
BHA/BHT (common in lip products)
🌿 Ingredients I Choose:
Plant-based oils and butters (jojoba, rosehip, shea)
Natural waxes
Vitamin E
Zinc oxide (for SPF)
Herbal extracts like chamomile, green tea, and calendula
These ingredients don’t just look pretty on a label — they support your skin barrier, promote radiance, and are often gentler on hormones.
🧖♀️ My Everyday Low-Tox Beauty Ritual (That I Actually Do)
I don’t do 12 steps. I do intentional energy.
Here’s what my real low-tox routine looks like — clean, simple, nourishing… and made for women who glow slowly.
Morning Glow:
Splash of cold water (it’s my favorite wake-up call)
A few spritzes of Leahlani Bohemian Ruby Toner
Press in Leahlani Happy Hour Serum or Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil
Evening Ritual:
Skin brushing before I shower (lymphatic love)
Post-shower: Leahlani Pamplemousse Cleansing Oil or a gentle oil blend
A few drops of Korres Santorini Grape Velvet Skin Drink for that velvety finish
Dab of OSEA Advanced Repair Eye Cream or Tata Harper Bio-Barrier Eye Crème
Finish with Leahlani Bless Balm or a nourishing oil layer
And always: intentional energy when applying. Hands on face. Slowness. Love.
